Really Modern

A screenshot of the Really Modern theme

An updated Seamonkey theme bringing Modern into the 21st Century. I’ve recoloured the icons and transferred them into the Classic theme template, so you get all the pretty icons and none of the dated non-native NS7 theming.

Install Really Modern 0.7 (SuiteRunner version)

New in 0.7: Large icons completed (smime still need recoloured, but so few people will ever see them I can’t be bothered right now). Grippies use system highlight colours. All icons now have drop shadows and antialiased edges – respec’ my gimp-fu.

TODO: Contributions more than grateful.

  • Finish recolouring all Modern icons. This means all small icons and a couple of disabled states.
  • Fix the Go and Search buttons and find a new, non-awful throbber.
  • Write a sub-style which gives 303806 menus.
  • Check the tab code. Tabs are a bit tall just now, not that I’d noticed.
  • Change the personal toolbar CSS to look like the bookmarks toolbar CSS, although see below.
  • Rewrite the CSS to be sane from the bottom-up. With any luck the change to toolkit and bsmedberg’s theme system rewrite will render this obsoleto and I can concentrate on the little things like shuffling all the icons around onto sensible palettes instead of being flung all over the place.
  • Redo all the icons as future-maintainable SVGs. This is the biggie. When this is complete, Really Modern will become Sovereign and will be the best theme ever.
  • Lobby it like a bitch. Ongoing.
